Welcome to my new blog!!
Tonight I ate dinner at Daawat Indian Restaurant in Edmonton with my girlfriend Kim and our friend Cortney (ideaassassins.wordpress.com). Now to the Review!
The Beer: It was amazing. They had three big fridges at the front with bottles from everywhere. I find a lot of indian restaurants around edmonton do this, but this one certainly had more selection than most. Obviously they were pushing the Kingfisher. They also had a lot of odd beers... who wants scotch ale or a maudette with butter chicken. I had steinlager.
The Food: It was amazing. most indian buffets have several trays of brightly coloured food, all of which taste similar when mixed. Daawat had all these but also some of the best vegitarian dishes i've had in a while. They had both veggie and fish pakoras. The fish ones tasted like fishsticks. Everything tastes better with chutney.
I've never had more attentive servers ever in my life. I guess that's part of the thing of a buffet is that servers dont have their own specific tables so they don't know if they're coming up to you just after somebody else did. No problem though. They were nice. The one lady hostess sat down and hugged me. Kim was jealous. The lady then told me how she was walking funny because she dropped a knife and tore her liggament (ough).
I ate too much.
We also drank chi tea made with real tea bags!!!!
I had the desserts but they weren't that great. I'm sorry, but they weren't. I always respect indians restaurants for trying, and i always feel bad when i only ever have one bite of them.
at the end my stomach felt like it would explode like the scene in the empire strikes back. So we walked home. But the lady (with the knife cut ligament leg) chased us down the street to give us menus with coupons in them. It was awesome!!!
Thanks for reading and come back soon !!
